PPSR searches

There were 2,836,598 searches conducted on the PPSR in the December quarter 2022. This was a decrease of 2.3% compared to the December quarter 2021, when there were 2,902,425 searches on the PPSR.

Motor vehicle searches by serial number were the most common type in the December quarter 2022. They accounted for 50.1% of searches.

PPSR registrations

There were 504,137 registrations created on the PPSR in the December quarter 2022. This number rose by 1.7% compared to the December quarter 2021, when there were 495,710 registrations created.

In the December quarter 2022, there were 309,715 amendments to registrations on the PPSR. There were 385,911 registrations discharged or removed from the PPSR.

At 31 December 2022, there were 10,151,818 current registrations on the PPSR. Motor vehicle was the most common collateral class with 4,705,513 registrations. This was 46.4% of total current registrations.

Commercial property was the most common type of collateral. At 31 December 2022, 8,002,366 current registrations on the PPSR were of this collateral type. This was 78.8% of total current registrations.
