New Chief Executive appointed to the Australian Financial Security Authority

The Attorney-General, Senator the Hon Michaelia Cash and the Assistant Minister to the Attorney-General, Senator the Hon Amanda Stoker have announced the appointment of Mr Tim Beresford as the new Chief Executive of the Australian Financial Security Authority (AFSA).

Mr Beresford’s five-year appointment as Chief Executive of AFSA, Inspector-General in Bankruptcy and Registrar of Personal Property Securities will commence on 2 May 2022.

Mr Beresford holds a Bachelor of Economics, Bachelor of Laws, a Masters of Philosophy (International Relations) and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He has held the position of Deputy Chief Executive of Global Client Services at Austrade since 2018.
